Wiqar Ali Khan Biography

 

Wiqar Ali Khan is best known as an award-winning Style Icon. He is a Pakistani actor, model, formal MTV VJ, Film Maker, Writer, Fashion Designer, Entrepreneur, International Brand Ambassador, director and producer who has seasoned professional with over 15 years of experience in international media. He was born on 16 January 1985, in the Swat Valley near the Himalayan Mountains in the Northwest Frontier of Pakistan. Wiqar Ali Khan belongs to a Pashtun family. He is a son of a veteran classical singer, Shafqat Hussein, and younger brother of a popular singer, Sajjad Ali. His parents moved to England in 1960, when Wiqar was in childhood. He grew up in Landon. He also holds a Master’s degree from the University of Central, London. 13 years ago, he got married to a beautiful girl Mitra.

The talented man started his showbiz career professionally when he was being famous for the 1st Asian Male Supermodel in London Wembley in 1996. After that, he was further rose to fame in 1997 when he became the Face of Calvin Klein along with the Hollywood actor and model, Mark Walberg.

After his huge popularity all around the world, he became the heartthrob actor in Pakistan. Though then, he has graced the cover of many renowned magazines as a solo personality. He has also walked on the runway for many top Pakistani fashion designers. Apart from this, Wiqar has also worked as a local and international brand ambassador of many famous companies. During the years of 2006-2010, Wiqar shared the platform of Motorola with an English former professional footballer, David Beckham as the international Brand Ambassador for Motorola.

Wiqar has worked as the vice president for MTV Pakistan for two years at MTV Networks international. In 2006, the lunchmeat of MTV Pakistan on the 25th Anniversary of the MTV was announced by MTV Networks International. The lunchmeat of MTV Pakistan as the 57th MTV channel across the globe was resulted due to the effort of Wiqar. Then he served as ahead of the Creative and Content departments of MTV. Where he worked to change the style, quality, and method of entertainment. At the same time, the talented media personality was also producing, conceptualizing and directing about 21 television shows at different TV channels.

In 2011, Waqar Ali performed a breakthrough performance as a music composer of a super hit title song of “Woh Hum Safer Tha” of the famous drama serial “Humsafar” which was broadcast on the Hum TV. Qurat ul Ain Balouch was the singer of this song.  It was the real success of his singing career. After that performance, he has given many more superb performances as a singer and music composer, like in 2013 he sung a title song “Jane Woh Kaise Log The Jinke Pyar Ko Pyar Mila” for the drama Serial, “Pyarey Afzal”, in 2015 Waqar also composed the song “O Yara” of a super hit film “Bin Roye” which was sung by Ankit Tiwari.

In September 2014, Wiqar hosted the unveiling of the Audi A8 Matrix alongside Hugh Jackman as Wolverine and Oscar winner artist Charlize Thereon as Monster, who performed as the face for Audi. Wiqar also hosted Veet Miss supermodel reality TV show in 2014 that broadcast on 15 different television channels which result, an audience of tens of millions viewers. He was the 1st male who hosted that reality show.

Wiqar was the Brand Ambassador of Coca-Cola for Asia in 2015. In the following year, in March 2015, he made his film debut as the lead role of a Guy Ritchie, in his first feature Lollywood film “Jalaibee”. The film is the Tarantino style inspired caper movie. It was screened on many cinemas, across the UK, Europe, Middle East, the USA, Asia, Canada, and Australia.

Till to date, Wiqar has launched, spearheaded, and ran a multimillion-dollar portfolio of multimedia brands which is vastly extended to Satellite TV Channels, Radio, Magazines, Web portal, Gaming, and a Record Label. The portfolio includes MTV, BBC Asian Network, Fashion TV, ZEE TV, ARY Digital, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, Wateen Multimedia, Radio 1 FM91, amongst others.

In 2010, Wiqar was the founder of a TV, named WAK Media and also his own Feature Film Production Company which was based on Mayfair, London. Wiqar has also directed numerous TV programs, Music Videos, Short Films and Charity Documentaries all over the world, including England, Pakistan, India, Middle East, Europe, and America.

Wiqar has global popularity for his outstanding singing, acting and modeling performances. He has huge fans around him. MTV Chairman and President Bill Roedy at the launch ceremony stated:

“MTV Pakistan would be no.1′ with Wiqar at its helm introducing new artists and accelerating the Pakistani music scene”
